I have started a new blog with an old name, The Morning Chronicle.Net. I have alternately used that name with my independent conservative blog, now titled Rainy Morning.
The first post on the new venue concerns the crumbling ponds at the Rose Gardens. While Molovinsky On Allentown hosts a new post every weekday, The Morning will have no routine posting schedule. It will occasionally make note of local cultural and/or political events.
The Lehigh Valley blog scene remains meager. Most of the weight has been carried by Bernie O'Hare and myself for going on twenty years, but Northwestern and Truth have recently joined the fray. Some former Morning Call employees have a page, but with their hands out for donations:) My new blog only allows comments with a Google handle, either a real name or a pseudonym. Don't comment here that you don't want big brother watching you, he's watching you already!
Why not just put the Allentown posts here and use the other two sites for your other posts?
ReplyDeleteIt seems that a blog with Allentown in its name is a much more appropriate place for articles about, well, Allentown.
anon@6:09: As an established blog in its 18th year, my historically conservative audience, with many Republicans, would love me to stop questioning Trump, especially with midterms approaching. However, as an independent watching the gas and oil fields burning, and knowing the consequences, snow removal in Allentown isn't so important at the moment.
ReplyDeleteIs not Allentown burning; or just falling apart?
DeleteUh, ok.
DeleteThen is there a way to get make the new site switch over to a more phone-friendly view?
When I view the MOA site (this site, which is in a phone-friendly format), at the bottom it gives me the option to “View web version”. When I press on that, it gives me the view that I see on the new blog. So I’m assuming this is an option you (as administrator) add to improve the readers’ experience.
However, I see no such option (to go to a phone-friendly version) on the new blog. I’m just stuck in the web version, which is difficult to read on the phone.
anon@6:09&6:44: I do want to amend my reply @6:25. It's not just as an independent, but as a citizen, Republican, Democrat or independent, it's important to speak out against the White House nonsense. As for Allentown, I don't see that much better or worse in the last decade.
ReplyDeletePlease MM, you know darn well that the trajectory of the former All American City continues to trend steadily downhill. And yes, in due time the current situation will be viewed as the good old days.
DeleteMike, get professional help. You are consumed with TDS.
Deleteanon@7:18: Here's a confession, I do all my blogging on a laptop. I only use my 2016 cell phone as a phone. The name of the new blog is its URL themorningchronicle.net I'll look for a seven year old to help me get the new blog phone friendly.
ReplyDeleteanon@9:33: No argument.
anon@7:18: I just came back from the elementary school playground. The kids were able to fix the problem, but I was told by the monitoring teacher never to return.
DeleteHa.... that's interesting as about 2014, as my then employer felt my skills were so necessary, he had me "on call" I was given an expensive iPhone so I could be contacted during my time off if circumstances warranted. Over the years, the iPhone was upgraded and even now in retirement I have the phone. The only time I use it, is as a mobile phone in my vehicle which I use occasionally to order pizzas or just have it in case of an emergency.
DeleteI never use it. I have my land line at home and a laptop. I had to send a text - once, and I had to look up on google how to send a text on an iPhone. It wasn't something I knew how to do. And I have a master's degree.
I am of the generation that believes in time off, and not being available 24/7/365 to anyone that wants to call me. Sorry. Even in retirement, if you don't leave a message on my answering machine, you don't get a call back if I don't recognize your number.
My level of electronic interaction is something I control. Not something I have the need to respond to.
anon@10:24: I think that there should be a new condition identified, i.e. TIS... Trump Infatuation Syndrome, for people who cannot see Trump objectively. Las Vegas is hurting bigly, no foreign tourists, which was a large percentage of their business.
ReplyDeleteOpen all border crossings and ports of entry. The country could use another 10, 12, 15 million unvetted, undocumented, illegal migrates.
DeleteOf course everyone is concerned about Los Vegas.
I blame the Jews.

Make it as difficult as possible.
ReplyDeleteGroovy.
