We Have The Might, But Not The Leadership

Saudi Arabia is worried about Trump's blockade of the Straits of Hormuz. Their fear is that the Houthis in Yemen might constraint the Bab a-Mandeb Strait out of the Red Sea, where much of their oil is now shipping.

While we certainly have the most powerful military in the world, the leadership at the top is erratic at best. I couldn't imagine Trump and Hegseth navigating WW2 or any major conflict since. Neither one takes advice well, and neither one has the experience to lead.

In Trump 1, aka 45, the advisors had a short shelf life, but they were qualified. In current Trump-O-Mania, expertise was never sought, only blind ring kissing. The only constraints on the Trump show seems to be the stock market and the price of oil. Let us hope that we can muddle through until 2029.

  1. Relax, Gavin Newsom is willing and ready to get his capable and strong hands on the tiller.
Relief is only one election away.
Thank you for your consistent support and willingness to help do the next right thing.

  2. Evidently, you DO have the experience, expertise, and leadership qualities under fire necessary to judge others in the performance of their duties. Congratulations!

Pass out a few business cards next time you’re in Washington, D.C.

  3. The Houthis are an ethnic minority in the failed state of Yemen and totally proxies for the Iranian Revolutionary Regime. When the Iranian Revolutionary government fails the Houthi are out of business.
Shia Iran sponsors the Houthi like it sponsors Hezbollah and Hamas.
Iran number two export is terrorism.
The Saudis are thrilled with the American and Israeli attacks on their number one enemy in the region. Any other spin is completely horse dung.

  5. In Trump's first term he chose people on their experience, but most of them betrayed him in one way or another, because they were all bureaucratic creations focused in preserving the status quo.
I suspect in this term he picked people who he thought he could trust and I also suspect he decided he would run this whole show himself.
At 80, he sleeps very little, does not pace himself or engage in down time or contemplation. He obviously does need good managers under him. Hegseth is a fool, who thinks acting and talking tough is all he needs to do.
Kushner and other realtor seem to have three way loyaltys between Netanyahu and hopes of personal gain in the future. I don't think they always tell Trump the truth.
With 18 months underway his only hope is to fire half these people, take some time off and hopefully find some qualified and patriotic people who are not Israeli agents or war mongers. Is that now even possible in Washington.
If he continues on this path, his hope of any domestic policies is finished and he will most likely put the finishing touches on America's economic and political future.

    1. Ray, your analysis is spot on.
Trump will most likely fire more people and pave the way for the Democrats to rule for the foreseeable future. The man absolutely lack contemplative skills and he has fallen prey to the worst elements in APAC. The entire Arab world is against tRump and rooting for Iran. Europe has regained its leadership. The Pope is a wonderful person and solidly against tRump and his lapdog, Vance.

    2. Once Trump is out of office he will become the next Herbert Hoover; never to be mentioned in polite Republican circles again. Republicans will talk about Lincoln & Eisenhower & Reagan…. No mention of the Bushes or of Trump.

      You nailed it!
Nobody will remember the Orange Devil. He will be barely a footnote in history. The Democratic Party has a total lock on the foreseeable future and the future is so bright we will have to wear shades.
