ICE Prison For West of Lehigh Valley

ICE has purchased a large warehouse west of Lehigh County for use as a prison. The 500,000sq. ft. prison purchased for $85million shows that we're getting our share of federal attention. I wonder if Ryan Mackenzie will be bragging about this with his messaging?

Being in Berks, near the Amazon warehouse, sort of takes some of the shine off the recent Lilly announcement. Will Kristi Noem be coming to look over the new inmates? Who knew that our corner of Pennsytucky would be making the news twice in one week?

Between Allentown and Reading there is a large Hispanic population. I would suggest that our Spanish speaking residents carry their ID with them at all times.

  2. I would like to thank Josh Siegel and Mark Pinsley for making sure that our area gets the attention from ICE that it deserves.

  3. The illegal ailens need a holding area while they are processed out of the United States. Why not here? Hopefully the facility is near some railroad tracks so they can be packed into containers and shipped back to Mexico where they came from

  4. anon@10:24: You can try and deflect the blame to the Democrats, but in truth this was planned before any recent evictions in Allentown, and the Republicans own it...At least the ones who don't stand up and speak out.

anon@1:59: I can see why you post anonymously.

    1. The fact is, such a facility is necessary to hold the amount of people now on a growing and confirmed legitimate deportation list. Those individuals need a place to stay while being closely monitored until they are removed back across the border.

What’s your alternative? Hotels, school gymnasiums, independent group homes, airport terminal gates, tents with sleeping bags? I see absolutely no problem with that ICE-managed facility being established. It’s the best option available.

    2. If you are not in the US legallly, then it is ICE's job to remove you.

The Democrats for some reason do not understand how the law works, and will place legal obstructions to insure you can remain and vote as well. That is the only way they think they can get votes is through bribes of being able to be in this country illegally, and recieve all sorts of free government food, housing, education and other benifits paid for by the taxpayers.

ICE needs to detain the illegals somewhere, why not this old warehouse before they send them packing back where they belong. ICE should also make the place as uninviting as possible so they don't want to come back either.

  5. I suspect that warehouse space is less costly in that area.

  6. anon@7:20: It is actually a modern warehouse, along Rt. 78. The contention that the illegals vote is absurd. But more worrisome than the kool-aid you drink, is what Trump is saying that Republicans should "nationalize" voting. His lack of comprehension of the Constitution is remarkable, especially for a former president. However, I think his fear of a blue wave come November is correct.

    1. The possibility that illegals are voting is being investigated right now. There is evidence this has happened in Arizona, California, and a few other states currently being looked at. This renewed examination has been ongoing for a couple of months. Obviously, the process is being stalled by certain lower courts and officials who are withholding requested data against already-issued subpoenas. This matter has NOT been settled.
