Trump's State Of Delusion

I don't know if a president was ever more divisive and insulting than Trump on Tuesday night. If I was a Democrat or Supreme Court Justice, I would have stood up and walked out.

He repeated his tired lines, such as if he was President the Ukraine/Russian war would have never started. He omitted his pledge to end that conflict on day one. He threw a treat to both his puppies, Vance and Rubio.

His economic good news isn't being felt at the kitchen table. Republicans will lose bigly in the midterms.

  1. Like anyone else, Donald Trump believes his opinions are valid. I, along with many million others, agreed with observations Donald Trump made during the State of the Union.

  2. We, the people, are going to hold you to the last sentence in this post. We, the people, will insist on a full apology, if, and when, you are proved incorrect.

  3. Mr. Wethepeople, thanks for using your name, so many of you hid behind anonymous.

  4. Delusion is an understatement. But he’s clear, he knows if there is a blue wave he will be riding it out of the White House because he certainly will be impeached. Then he will have to face a real justice department. Even the Supreme Court is fed up with his nonsense and corruption.

    1. Even if an impeachment is in his future, President Trump can (like Bill Clinton) finish out his term. The real story is, who will be the next president.

  5. Easily the most boring, non-substantive SOTU speech I've watched (and they are usually a bore!). He gave more awards than he did state policies he wanted to enact.

    1. I was really bored by those two Congressional Medals of Honors.

    2. All the big deal hoopla about the hockey team was totally unnecessary.
      Booooring.

  6. Don't forget Jerome Powell with his signature purple ties. Powell, a dignified, intelligent and independent eminent economist was bullied and name called by Trump over interest rates like a scene out of 5th grade recess.

  7. I did not watch, as I usually am asleep by that time, I did hear the basic clips. Trump has pretty well kept his promises on domestic policy, stopped unchecked immigration, did some tax reform for tips that was basically unenforceable. It seems presidents do have the power to impact domestic policy.
As for foreign policy, it is clear that it is beyond the power of any president at this time. Trump may have attempted to bend it some, but we will have to wait to see if he can keep the country out of war.
An attempt of engaging in a new colonialism is unacceptable, whether in the America's or Africa.
So we see and hear how he has already lost the midterms, I still do not see any policy put forth by the democrats, other than antiTrump. They are all on board the war wagon and I doubt they have forsaken their woke policies.
You know that I criticize Trump most every day, but if the election would be today, between Kamala Harris or a similar candidate including Newsome or Kelly, I would still need to vote for Trump.
Those who hate Trump, still hate him, possibly more, there is no objective vision. Trump won because he was viewed as an outsider and there was hope of a change in direction, I see no change of direction by the democrats, they have no policy, they have no vision, they are dull and ineffective, a little hope is better than no hope.

  8. Should the Republicans lose control of both House and Senate it is expected we will see a return to the policies of Joe Biden. That can mean higher Federal taxes, more government regulations, and a pause in removing people living here illegally.

  9. The metals and honors were certainly well deserved, but as noted above a distraction from the purpose of the state of the union. It was a pep rally, Trump is too old of a dog to learn new tricks. Especially dangerous this weekend, with the attack on Iran.
