Trump Tries To Buy Hungarian Election With Our Money

Either Donald Trump doesn't understand the concepts of democracy and diplomacy, or he thinks that as President he's above them. His wholesale attempt to influence the Hungarian election with his tweets should embarrass the Republicans, but they have become tone deaf to this administration.

A Trump tweet on his Truth Social, “My Administration stands ready to use the full Economic Might of the United States to strengthen Hungary’s Economy, as we have done for our Great Allies in the past, if Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and the Hungarian People ever need it,” Before Sunday's vote Trump tweeted, “We are excited to invest in the future Prosperity that will be generated by Orbán’s continued Leadership!”

Orban lost the election bigly, even after Trump's tweets and Vance's visit. That of course is the good news for the Republicans, come November the bad news.

  1. One must wonder if Vance and Trump endorsements didn't add to this defeat for Orban. I suspect that they don't realize that they no longer have the positive influence .
Orban did a good job for Hungary. This is all about Brussels being the growing ruler over the Union, no matter the cost to individual countries.
Brussels policies on immigration and energy have been a disaster, they still want to prevail in Ukraine at all costs, which may be their collective economies.

    1. It’s proof that at least one country in Europe isn’t buying the open border plan of the West or NATO’s proxy war against Russia.
      God bless the Hungarians.

    2. Then why don’t you go live there? Do you even know what damage he has done to the country? No, you’re just filled with your usual ignorant uninformed hatred.

  3. If they are not embarrassed of his recent crude remarks about the Pope, I doubt they care about his Hungarian election comments.

  5. Poor Trump. He’s just another old guy watching Fox. Unfortunately his Congress is afraid to rein him in, something we’ll remember in November. His old ego has taken him beyond reality. He’s gone from expecting a Nobel Peace prize to starting a war. He’s so easily flattered yet so thin skinned. He has yet to acknowledge the four astronauts who helped perform the moon mission that had the possibility of uniting Americans. Back to the gold white house and Fox.

    1. You offer nothing but you get bonus points for consistency.

  6. anon@11:10: He's not the first president to "age out" on the job, but the real problem is that there is no expertise in his cabinet.
As for the astronauts, rather than seize the moment, his administration is talking about cutting back on NASA funding.
