Bob Brooks' Lemonade Stand

Fellow blogger Bernie O'Hare wondered why Lamont McClure lost? He lost because he never had a chance:) But the real question is why did Ryan Crosswell lose? The answer is Bernie O' Hare. Bernie led the pack in disclosing that Brooks stiffed his ex-mother-in-law on a house loan after she became an ex.

I jest at putting the blame at Bernie's door, but talk about making lemonade! Late in the campaign, too late to respond, Brooks' camp put out a video with him saying he was just an everyman, who had to decide between the mortgage and the medical bills, and he chose to pay his medical bills.

Now certainly the party endorsement didn't hurt Brooks, especially with Shapiro chiming in. I doubt that come November I'll cast any vote in that election. I'm not much for party sycophants, regardless of their label pin.

  1. It’s been over a week since the primary, and our roadways are still littered with campaign signs, mostly from the democrat primary race for Congress.

I’d like to think that all candidates, win or lose, believe it’s important to now clean up the mess they made with the same speed and enthusiasm as when the signs first went up.

To all campaigns - it’s time to clean up your signs. In many cases, we’re learning more about who you really are than anything you wrote in your mailers.

We had to dispose of the mailers you sent us, but the removing the signs are YOUR responsibility. It’s time for you all to live up to it.

  2. Given that Bob Brooks is a Democrat, our local news media will quickly give him their unofficial endorsement right through the next election.

Brooks will receive no critical examination of his record and prior behavior. This is the same local news media, Morning Call in particular, weak posture in covering the NIZ scheme, Tuerk incompetence, nuisance crime situation, failing Allentown School District, etc.

The 3 monkey statue should replace the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in the reconfigured Center Square.

  3. anon@8:20: As the incumbent, Mackenzie will be generating plenty of news conferences. At this point in time, I don't see the Morning Call having an agendaas they did in more prosperous times.
