I was disappointed to see Josh Shapiro endorse Ana Tiburcio. While I thought that it was inappropriate for him to endorse Bob Brooks, I took Shapiro at his word that he knew Brooks, and that his support had some basis beyond party politics.
However, Shapiro certainly doesn't know Tiburcio, she has been a state representative for 10 minutes, filling Josh Siegel's slot.
The other day I noticed that some Ryan Crosswell signs were replaced by Bob Brooks signs. When governors endorse people they don't know, and campaign workers discard competitors' signs, it's a poor reflection on both the endorser and the candidate.
Two questions that everyone should be asking:
ReplyDelete1). What was Tiburcio willing to promise for Shapiro’s endorsement; and
2). What does Shapiro expect in the future for giving it?
I don’t know the answers to those questions, but I don’t think that either has anything to do with what’s best for the taxpayers or voters.
anon@2:22: I do not believe that Tiburcio is politically savvy enough to have made any deal. Shapiro was just throwing the local Dem party a cookie, while he was on the stage hoping to harvest some future latino votes for himself. His appointments and his endorsements are disappointing. Even Harrisburg was a bridge too far for him.
ReplyDeleteAgree. His endorsement of Brooks is a disappointment. Mackenzie will eat him and his tough talk up.
DeleteShapiro's ego is getting the better of him. He simply goes along with the establishment candidates no matter how bad the optics are. Shapiro supporting a guy like Brooks is ridiculous partisan politics. I'm surprised he could be in the same room as the guy.
ReplyDeleteanon@7:07: Mackenzie couldn't eat up a peanut butter sandwich. Not a squeak from that mouse about Trumps' shenanigans.
ReplyDeleteList those Trump shenanigans that trouble you, but not someone else.
Deleteanon@8:16: I'll list a few of many, but I won't print your reply. I'm tired of hearing about Biden, especially from Trump.
ReplyDelete1. Jan. 6th, pardoning them, and now wanting to compensate them.
2. woefully unqualified cabinet
3. going after critics
4. profiteering
5. imposing his bad taste on national monuments
6. total lack of diplomacy
a. considering that he was president before, all the above is
doubly troubling.
Doesn’t seem to be anything illegal on this list.
DeleteFor #1 and #3: So you think the Jan 6 people who simply walked into an open doorway deserved to be kept in prison for years awaiting trial? And that they deserved to receive sentences far beyond what others (like the George Floyd protesters who actually did physical damage) received?
ReplyDeleteAnd you don’t think the impeachments of Trump or the BS state indictments had anything to do with democrats going after their opponents.
Sorry, but you’re living on a different planet. Senility is an ugly thing, but that’s where you are.
Now go tell us how you saved the park system again.
It is interesting to see Turek wearing a Cuban guayabera shirt. Maybe the quartet shown in the photo are also singing "Guantanamera", trying to make Allentown like Havana
