I listened to a softball interview on local public radio with Mayor Matt. I'm being kind calling it softball, it was a foamball, as used with very young children. Matt talked about how just showing up is such an important part of his job.
Last year I met up with Alfonso Todd for a podcast. While I call the project Radio Molovinsky, he calls it Prolifick Radio2.0. Either way, I invite Matt to sit down for an interview with Alfonso and myself. Over the years I have mellowed, and my questions won't be iceballs, but we're all too old for foamballs.
Assuming Matt agrees to the adult interview, I'll publish a link to the podcast here on the blog after it is recorded.
Mayor Matt is suburban guy who did the suburban “punk” thing then fashionable and with a good if less than Ivy education and a family that had the money to send to traveling around the world with still leaving him enough disposable cash income to afford a bunch of bad tattoos.

Give the guy a break. Do think it’s easy playing mayor?
Softball is played by girls and young women athletes and they play hard. Men play slow pitch which attracts a lot of older athletes. They also play hard.
ReplyDeleteMatt is more of an amateur actor than an amateur athlete in his role as Mayor. Give him credit for his running (sport not political) ability. He’s got some talent. Bigger than

DeleteAllentown is slowly circling the drain and it’s clear to any knowledgeable observer that the current administration is doing little to nothing to reverse this trend.
By his own admission the current Mayor has brought billions (with a B) of dollars into the local economy even as he notes that most of what represents the current economic growth is predicated upon small business owners. This assertion deserves to be respectfully questioned.

ReplyDeleteYou find it to be a contradiction that with all those billions of dollars arriving that we still need a tax hike to balance the budget?
Surely Matt has attended a seminar somewhere that will explain this oddity.
