When I watched Rand Paul attempt to interrogate Fauci, I could appreciate why Fauci was taking the 5th. That was not one doctor trying to learn from another, it was an inquisition. Fauci had made it clear that if Trump won the 2020 election, that he would resign as head of infectious diseases. On the other hand, Paul had bought into the 2020 stolen election conspiracy theory.
Back when Fauci was appointed, health officials were still being chosen for their expertise, not their politics, as is the case now. Over the decades, Fauci was recognized as an expert on HIV and other diseases that challenged our nation and the world.
This current witch-hunt doesn't bode well for our country's health. If we're going to punish the qualified doctors who step forward, eventually we will be left with only snake oil pitchmen. The health structure in the current administration will not be studied in the future for its contributions.

While I did not watch Senate hearings, It has become obvious, that Fauci was instrumental in funding the gain of Function research at the Wuhan lab. Never would admit it, and tried to say that it came from a market. Many have attempted to blame China, but t was US research both in Wuhan and also in Ukraine that has still not been opened up. why research in gain of function, no answer. If a good reason lets hear it,
ReplyDeleteTulsi Gabbard tried to seek transparency in the many labs in Ukraine, I suspect it will now be dead issue.
Fauci knew a lot more about this virus, than he admitted at the time and endorsed a fake vaccine that is not effective but has every indication of being a health risk.
He knew what he was doing by taking the 5th.
Agree with Ray 100% about Fauci’s knowledge and complicity in the origins of the Covid virus.
DeleteI suppose you can take the republicans to task for being too hard on Fauci, but I really don’t get why the democrats chose to defend him without asking him ANY questions.
ReplyDeleteWith years of hindsight, it’s now clear that Fauci’s “expertise” resulted in implementing every wrong answer possible. Kids lost months (years in larger cities) of education, loved ones died alone, livelihoods were lost, and we were all forced to stay inside due to the wrong decisions of Dr Fauci.
Somehow the man who gave us those wrong solutions has escaped accountability, and was given a Presidential pardon for his actions going back SIX YEARS before the pandemic actually struck. I’d sure like to know why.
Expecting a fully-pardoned Fauci to answer questions about his fully-pardoned actions during the largest public health crisis in the last hundred years doesn’t seem unreasonable to me. He stole months and years of our lives from us, and we deserve to know why. It should never happen again, and getting to the truth is part of that.
As usual, the democrats seem to have no interest in finding the truth, or at least letting us know what it is. Their performance reeked of a cover-up, and raised even more questions.
I’m confused. It seems like some are blaming Fauci for not doing more while others, who claim he stole time from them , blame him for not doing less. I think some are forgetting how many people died. We didn’t see much of it here because our world closed up, but remember that hospitals were renting refrigerated trucks to store bodies while our political leadership was suggesting a Clorox cure.
ReplyDeleteSeems like great timing for yet another distraction from the disaster of this administration. Wars? Pedophiles? Inflation? Gas prices? Look over here now! For some it all makes sense that the one guy in the adminstration who tried to bring some order to a chaotic situation as bodies were being stored in the streets must be part of some evil cabal. Maybe they thought Fauci was down there in the pizza shop cellar with the other devil worshipers making plans to destroy the world.. Meanwhile we had a looonotic in office who suggested (on air) to inject disinfectants into our bodies as well as his suggested miracle cures " hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine" which was found to do nothing, in fact was harmful. And let's not forget his suggestion to "somehow" get a UV light under our skins to kill the virus (hmmm).
ReplyDeleteAnybody who believes Fauci had anything to do with the creation of covid has as much sense as the guy who went to the "pedo pizza shop" with an assault rifle only to find that it didn't have a cellar.
12:04 - Your talking points are about 5 years old.
DeleteI don’t think it’s in dispute anymore that the virus came from the Wuhan lab, and not the wet market as Fauci originally told us. There is also strong evidence that Fauci had illegally continued to fund gain of function research through the lab.
Those questions (and others) would have been nice to have Fauci answer, since he already received a blanket pardon for any crimes he committed going back to 2014 (six years before the pandemic).
You can bray all you want about the hearing being a distraction, but what are the democrats doing to make sure something like the Covid response never happens again in this country again? I would have thought that the democrats could have better spent their time asking those typenof questions since they were there anyway.
The fact that they instead simply covered for an already-pardoned government bureaucrat spoke volumes. They’re hiding something. Maybe you should be curious about that.
Quick AI search says: "President Trump has significantly reduced safety and regulatory funding through steep budget cuts, major staffing reductions, and relaxed enforcement guidelines across multiple public health, worker, and law enforcement agencies. These changes span federal oversight of food, labor conditions, healthcare quality, and public safety grants." And lets not forget that our current Health Secretary is an anti-vaxer which seems to have helped the spread of measles among other things. Yup. I feel safer already.
Delete5:24 - Yet the issue remains the Covid pandemic, the US response to it, why the already-pardoned Fauci won’t tell the truth about what happened, and why the democrats are covering for him.
DeleteOne last thought: I had a friend who died, sadly, because they believed the nonsense that the president at the time was pushing that covid was less lethal than the flu. When is that investigation coming up? I wish I could have such a short term memory as some others, especially brainwashed magas. Life would be so much simpler, although definitely not as safe.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who as a healthy young man took one of the experimental vaccines and died suddenly of a previously heart attack
Deletesix months later.
