Trump's subscription service, Truth API, releasing policy decisions early on Truth Social, will cost the Republicans bigly come the midterms and the the 2028 general election. So far, only the certified party outcasts have spoken out against the $100k a month subscriptions, and they are not enough to save the GOP's reputation.
Truth Social is unpresidential, but Truth API goes beyond unethical into sanctioned insider trading. I suspect that after the midterms are digested, the Republican Party will start to push back. While Trump may be immune to prosecution, his silent enablers will pay the price for their complicity in his schemes.
They will try to remind the public about having closed the Biden border and keeping boys out of the girl's locker room during the first couple of months, but it won't compensate for all the poor governing since. Their warnings about socialists will also fall on deaf ears. They capitulated to blatant corruption, and Trump's $gains will be their loss.
Hopefully the blatant outrageous corruption will finally awake everyone to the dire situation in Washington. It will be interesting to see if even this will cause any reaction. Maybe it is way too far gone.
ReplyDeleteIn today’s age of instant information, I’m not sure what anyone is paying $100,000 for. Anyone can subscribe, so all it takes is one subscriber (like a news organization, other social media platform or even wealthy individuals) to quickly repost the information, thus making the “early” part of the subscription benefit virtually irrelevant. I think that those who are running Truth Social will find this out pretty quickly, and find the appetite for “early” access pretty slim.
ReplyDeleteI also think that those who are up in arms about this are the usual suspects who would criticize anything associated with the President, even if he were posting about how to help a lemonade stand benefitting kids with cancer. I suspect those making the most noise now will milk it for whatever political benefit they can (which is the point) and then move on to the next “outrage” as the emotional appeal wears off and all the facts come out.
Overall, I find the whole Truth Social thing very ironic. First, because it was created after the Left’s multiple attempts to silence Trump (both the president and the individual) on other platforms, through lawfare, algorithm suppression, and outright censorship. The second reason why it feels ironic is because it seems as though the only ones who follow it are Trump’s biggest critics.
That last point is the most ironic of all, as it seems like Trump is no longer living rent-free in the minds of his critics. He’s now charging them for it as well.

A quick search online about The Eric Trump Foundation and Trump's golf course reveals how much Trump cares about helping anyone but himself. He flipped when he found out his son was doing free tournaments at his club for kids with cancer and quickly put the kabash on that. And along those lines, did he ever get that audit finished so we can check out those taxes and what he deducted for supposed charitable contributions? He will undoubtedly go down as the most corrupt scamming piece of trash to ever hold our highest office..

DeleteI’m not even sure I disagree with you on this issue, but (as I wrote) I do wonder how relevant it actually is and whether it’s an issue that will go away on its own.
I believe it was Calvin Coolidge who said you don’t have to deal with every tumbleweed that’s blowing down the street, since many won’t make it to you. The tactic on the left is to scream about every one they see and make it out to be a civilization-ending event.
I understand that democrats have to keep the Trump-hate going through November, since they certainly don’t want to talk about their “solutions” that would only make our problems worse.
I also understand that shortly after the next election democrats and their allies in the media will also start branding whoever the republican front-runners as the new “next-Hitler” after Trump.
I can hardly wait for your expert and impartial analysis in your upcoming posts. I have no doubt they will be as valuable as this one.
anon@10:41: you feign objectivity, but practice differently. "Trump hater" and "TDS" presumes Trump's policies are good, but the distractors must have some personal aversion to Trump.. The reality is far different and detrimental to the country. His policies and unqualified cabinet have degraded foreign policy and health of the country, far beyond the corruption. It will take decades to correct for Hegseth and Kennedy's bad policies.

anon@11:50: This not a R vs D thing, but common sense. Trump/Kennedy have instilled the low information types with the notion that vaccines are bad, and our children are paying the price with measles. Because of cutting off funding to WHO, Africa is fighting ebola with bandaids.
