On Friday I posted about Trump's FBI trying to prove that he won the 2020 election. For what purpose? Only the dumbest would think that Trump is concerned with election integrity. The skeptical think that the real motivation is to discredit the upcoming midterms, where Republicans will likely be decimated.
The Trump coalition is composed of the dumb and the desperate. We know what the dumb look like. The desperate are partisan Republicans, who are setting themselves up to lose for the next decade. Nobody inclined to be a Democrat will make the same mistake they made in 2024. I believe that minorities will be back home with the Democrats. The Hispanics saw the prison in El Salvador, and the rush to build Alcatraz in the Everglades. The blacks saw the eagerness of the ICE Troopers.
The dumb is self-explanatory, but I'm surprised at the stubbornness of the Republican Party. Do they care that much about Trump, and do they think that he cares about them? I've been urging Republicans to stand up and speak out. So far that's a short list, containing no locally elected. While a Mackenzie could not earn back my vote, there is still time for them to assert themselves, but that time is waning. The consequences of Trump's arrogance and unqualified advisors are coming home to roost.

Wow, it’s really appropriate that Groundhog Day was this week, since once again we’re treated to another slightly altered version of the same, anti-Trump post day after day..
ReplyDeleteAnd there’s really only one person that seems to “dumb and desperate”.
I know you don’t like the term TDS, but really it’s time to seek some help, or go back on your meds. Surely you have to realize that your obsession isn’t a healthy way to live.
It seems that to Trump supporters, it is an all or nothing affair. Either one supports Trump 100% in everything he says or does, or the person who does not like one thing or another does must have "Trump Derangement Syndrome" or TDS.
DeleteThis is why I refer to Trump's MAGA supporters as cultists. And they are very defensive about it as well, as any criticism of Trump is clearly an affront to them personally.
MAGA seems to have lost all perspective on disagreement with regards to an issue, versus a deep-rooted hatred of all things about Donald Trump. You can't criticize on thing and support another.
This is why I prefer to be considered a conservative, and I generally align myself with the Republican party. This is also why I consider MAGA to be on the far right fringe of the political specturum. The further out on the fringe, generally the more defensive those supporters are of their canidates and their positions. I suppose it was back in the 1990s that the Libertarians used to be like that, although not as extreme. They had some really fringe views of illegal drugs and narcotics, for example, but they also favored lower government spending and reducing taxes. And you could support some of their positions without the abuse and insulting conduct that @4:54 wrote in their response about "meds" and "dumb and desperate"... the insults and defense of their God, Donald Trump.
This is why I refuse to associate myself with MAGA... I'm not a cultist.
Thank goodness for MM, his balanced perspective has kept me from falling prey to to MAGA cult time and again.
DeleteMMonA has kept me sane throughout this difficult period.
The Democrats flooded the country with people that did not go through our immigration system in any manner. They litterally opened the gates to anyone. These people, classified as Illegal Ailens, rather than immigrants all are guilty of not obtaining any type of visa, immigration or otherwise, and are subject to removal from the United States by our Immigration Service, or ICE.
ReplyDeleteOn top of that, some of these Illegal Ailens have comitted criminal acts in additon to being in our nation illegally, and it is those individuals that local law enforcement need to apprehend because of those crimes. Once they have been either let go from prision or released from custody, then ICE can apprehend them for deportation.
However, it seems that the Democrats don't want that to happen, and are interfering in federal law enforcement from doing its job. Either by Democratic-controlled local government officials not cooperating with ICE, or through protesters interfering with federal law enforcment officers. Both of those actions can be considered felonies, with penalties up to 8 years in prison, or up to 20 years if a weapon or injury is involved.
It is time for these individuals, who seem to believe they are above the law because they don't agree with it to be prosecuted. If they don't like the law, then have Congress change it.
Brent - Your age is showing, so I’ll slow things down for you a bit.
ReplyDeleteIf you had read the headline on today’s post, you would see that this is where the phrase “dumb and desperate” originated, not from the comment at 4:54 am.
I also know it’s hard for you to accept that YOU’RE the one in the cult, because everyone who’s in a cult thinks everyone else is. If you could list all your “conservative” positions and assess them rationally, you’d find that 1). President Trump is actually implementing most of those positions, or 2). You’re not actually a conservative.
Maybe you and Molovinsky can team up to get a bulk discount on the meds. Best of luck!
@7:01 I can't figure out why Trump supports Russia invading Ukraine. Why aren't we sending the Ukrainians all the weapons they need to defeat the Russians and kick their asses back to Russia?
DeleteI support Ukranians wanting freedom and liberty.
Can MAGA explain why Trump kisses Putin's ass all the time? Is it because he blames Zelinskyy for his first impeachment ?
Brent - I don’t think that Trump supports Russia invading Ukraine at all. But he also doesn’t believe in sending the Ukraine an endless blank check. Nor do many Americans.
DeleteIn addition, it probably pisses Trump off that Europe clamors for increased US intervention and involvement in the Ukraine while continuing to prop up Putin by buying Russian oil.
As to armaments, we simply couldn’t continue to send endless amounts of missiles and other arms (Javelins, Stingers, TOW’s, Howitzer and Howitzer rounds, etc) to the Ukraine and still have enough left for us to defend our own country and other interests. The level that some armaments fell to was dangerous, and Trump is also working to increase our production capacity for the future.
As to Trump’s public approach to Putin, I’d imagine that much like all his negotiations, Trump will use whatever approach he thinks will work at any given time. If he has to puff Putin up to get him to the negotiating table, so be it.
I’m sure that Trump is also aware that while some might want more US involvement against Russia, Putin and Russia possess the LARGEST nuclear arsenal IN THE WORLD. Those nuclear missiles can hit US cities in about 18 minutes and kill tens of millions of Americans.
By the way, what’s one of the quickest route for Russian nukes to hit the US? That’s right, by flying over Greenland, which is why Trump sees that country as being so important to the security of the US.
@9:13 Do you understand what Putin fears the most? The Russian People.
DeleteOver the past 26 years, Putin has stolen about ONE TRILLION dollars from the people of Russia.
That money could have gone to better health care, better schools, old age pensions, roads, bridges... Do you know what most of the roads of Russia are like outside of the major cities? Like they were in Pennsylvania in 1890. Primarily dirt. Crumbling concrete. Do you know most homes in Russia outside of the cities do not have indoor bathrooms? A pump for water off a well suffices for indoor plumbing.
All that money went not into making life better for the average Russian. It went into homes in the south of France, it went into bank accounts in Western Europe, outside of Russia.
Would you be upset if Trump stole hundreds of millions of tax dollars out of the US Treasury and deposited it in the middle east for his own use? That's Russia. And there is a large force of internal police to make sure the people of Russia don't get upset about it. Yeah, there are still Gulags in Siberia. Where all the upset people go.
Actually that's why Putin started his wars against the neighboring Russian nations. Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine... He needed a war to get the attention off all the missiing money so what is better than stirriing up an enemy and nationalism and starting a war? Well that's real reason for Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Not NATO or any of the other reasons... Otherwise Putin would be facing a storm of Russian people marching on the Kremlin asking where their money went to.
As far as nuclear weapons go, if you steal a trillion dollars, i'm sure you want to enjoy it, yes ? If Putin set off a nuke, guess what would happen. He would be a dead man walking as nothing would stop the UK, or France to nuke Putin. Remember,, it's not just Trump that has nukes. And the Europeans are far more concious of Putin's escapades since he's on their dooorstep. Then if the US gets involved and more nukes start to fly... well, Putin wouldn't be able to enjoy his trillion dollars of stolen money would he? That's why there is no threat of nuclear war. It is the THREAT of using nukes that is useful to use... not actually using them. And Putin shakes that nuclear threat tree a lot..
So who are we going to use all of our weapons against? Venesuela? Cuba? Denmark? You know, all the old stuff in storage depots. We have 30 square miles of old weapons at the Sierra Army Depot in California; the Aircraft storage area in Arizona... Stuff from the 80s still sitting there. Why don't we send that stuff to Ukraine? Old Tomahawks from Desert Storm....
Well if Trump did, he wouldn't be able to cut buisness deals with Vlad to redevelop Russia's oilfields, or aluminum mines, or other minerals in Russia. That's why he wanted Greenland. Our treaty lets us put all kinds of anti missles there in the ice. Trump wanted the natural resources.
Trump is one thing... Making money. Why do you think the Venesuelan Government is still in power? Not for the people. but so Trump can access the oil.
Oh the those siezed tankers that the Navy boarded, guess where the money from the oil went. No, not to the US Treasury. To Quatar.. into some bank accounts that Trump controls....
Yeah, Making America Great Again ?? I hope Ive been enlightening.......
We shouldn't be giving Ukraine a blank check, but we also shouldn't be giving Israel one for the last 60 years either.
Deleteanon@7:01: Thank you for your concern about my meds. On that note, I can tell you that the price hasn't gone down, despite your president putting that feather in his cap. Another feather I haven't found is the reduced gas prices. I know that he doesn't drive, so he wouldn't know personally. I did see him hawking Musk's cars in front of the White House, before their falling out. Funny thing, Canada and Mexico will be flooded with Chinese EV's because of Trump's tariff bullying. He tweets a better game than he plays.
ReplyDelete“Another feather I haven’t found is the reduced gas prices”
DeleteIf you haven’t found reduced gas prices, you’re either losing your memory or getting lazy in your research.
AAA average gas price currently at $2.887 per gallon. That’s well below the average of over $5 that we hit in the Biden years.
BTW, I filled up over the weekend for $2.67 per gallon. I expect that to continue to go down, as more Trump policies favoring production kick in.
MAGA is indeed a cult. It was designed to be a cult. One that makes money for Trump and family. It’s Trump marketing that rivals any snake oil show. I gives folks who feel they have been ignored a place to belong and feel they have power to affect their situation. As the world moves on to electric vehicles, we’re looking for lower gas prices. More policies of the past. Trump’s chaotic management enabled him to tear down part of the White House while we were looking in the other direction. The death of two young Americans is solely his fault, a result of his policies. Yes, republicans should have cut him loose long ago, but in a Groundhog Day scenario we’re stuck with the policies of a dithering 80 year old who surrounds himself with extremists.
ReplyDelete“The death of two young Americans is solely his fault…”
DeleteReally? All I’ll say to that is that so far nobody who wasn’t interfering with legal law enforcement activity has been shot.
It’s also telling that the Left will go insane over the deaths of two white liberals interfering with law enforcement, but couldn’t care less about the deaths of hundreds of black Americans every week in our Democrat-run major cities.
anon@9:13, 9:19 and 9:28: I'm not going to address your three glasses of kool-aid, but come November you will be astonished how many of us forgot these great Trump accomplishments.
ReplyDeleteThe GOAT scammer in chief has also found another way to launder money thru the "documentary" , Melania, for which she pocketed 28 million. Only a cultist would see no problem for a sitting president's wife to accept this much cash without thinking there is going to be a quid-pro-quo down the line.
ReplyDelete"For what purpose"? Heck, we're still litigating slavery and the Civil War. Might be nice to know if, if fact, the 2020 election was rigged. Doesn't anybody care that in our own state we had tens of thousands of unconstitutional ballots cast? Yes, no public official, or sainted judge or court, can change election law. Only a Constitutional Amendment can do that.
